Day #6 update

Went by the house this afternoon. Still nothing. I passed about 10 sets of power trucks working. And lots of tow trucks hauling off damaged cars. And lots of police. Saw one fire truck in action. Saw a sign posted to a light post that said "WE NEED POWER" and it was in my neighborhood. Wish I had my camera with me because I would have taken a picture of it. I know it's not the power company's fault, but those of us without power are just getting really edgy. I really really do not want to spend another weekend here. I have customers who I have promised orders to. I know they would probably understand if I did not get them to them in time, but it's Christmas. And I also don't want to disappoint them. I want to be able to follow through. If I have to spend extra money to put a rush on their orders, I think I am going to.

Tonight I am going downtown (oh, wait, that's where I'm living, so I guess we will walk!) to a Christmas Walk. Should be a nice little break from what's been going on. Jen and I went to it last year. Myself with Maia in tow attached to my front in the Baby Bjorn and Jen in tow with her preggie belly. It's really fun - carollers, horse and buggy rides, specials in the stores and boutiques, and usually free coffee, tea or wine. Mom and Heather are going with and the kids will stay here with Neil. Heather's beau, Lee, may bring over his son, Cole, and hang out with Neil, Noah and Maia. I'm really looking forward to tonight. (We will mis you not being with us, Jen and Addy!)

Another on-the-bright-side note . . .Neil called and the electrician got the parts in to do the work on the outside of the house, so once that is done MAYBE, just maybe, we can get power hooked up. Everyone on our street has it. It might be a homecoming when we do come home. They've really been keeping an eye out on our house and on us coming and going.

Toodles for now.

Why have they been keeping an eye on you? Are they worried for your safety? Have fun tonight..you deserve it.
