Are we on to something?

My daughter is amazing me right this moment.

For about a week now, when she poops, she tells me right away. She says "poopy" and grabs her bottom, tugging at her diaper. So we always change it right away. (This is something that never started with Noah until he was 3! Maia is 17 months!)

Today, before I even knew she had pooped, she went into her room, grabbed a diaper, walked back out to me and sat it on my lap. I could smell something raunchy and said to her "do you want your poopy diaper changed?" and she responded with a nod "yes"! Ohmygoodness! Could this possibly be potty training at it's grandest? (I'm going to knock-on-wood as I say this is wonderful!!)

You're giving my hope! My daughter is 14 months. Wow, how cool to be potty trained in 3 months!

Well, I wouldn't know from experience because my second child, dear sweet Hank, had to be bribed, cajoled and finally, forced, out of diapers a few months after his third birthday.

But I hear there are potty training prodigies out there (my niece was one, and Maia sounds a lot like her in this respect) and I'm hopeful you've got one on your hands. How excellent!

Girls are WAY easier than boys! Well in my experience anyway. Haley potty trained real early. Jake well thats a different story. It sounds like Maia is ready. That's great! Just think of how many lattes you could buy with that diaper money!
