I'd have to purchase a wide-angle lens!

So I just got an email from a prospective client, a bride. I'm still laughing.

First of all, she is wanting me to photograph her wedding in just a couple months (kinda short notice), but the real kicker is this part of the email. And I quote, "Do you have a limit to the number in the wedding party because we have 15 bridesmaids?" Oh my lands. Seriously?! FIFTEEN?! And I thought 9 was a lot. Thankfully I was able to tell her I am booked and not have to come up with an excuse. THANKFULLY.

Can you imagine as a bride, keeping 15 straight? Or buying them gifts? Or their dinner? (You'd have to account for them and a guest, so right there you have 30 seats at your reception taken.) I could go on . . . but you get the point. In-sane.

Not freakin' serious?!? That's INSANE!!! I mean, I have a lot of friends, but that's a little overboard, isn't it? You have to draw the line somewhere.

I used to work at a bridal shoe salon...so we got the upscale weddings. And SO many of them had huge numbers like that. And a ton of the african-american weddings would have like 10 bridesmaids AND 7 hostesses with matching dresses/shoes. I don't even have that many friends, much less ones I want in my wedding! LOL!

I don't even know 15 females I could/would ask to be in my wedding!! SHEESH!!
We were super simple, maid of honor & best man and that was it.

That's NUTS..unless they are from a HUGE family and that is her sisters and his sisters..cause come on..you don't have your HS class in your wedding. LOL..
I had 3 friends..3 of my hubby's sisters.. That was good for me :-)

er... I had 10... My sis, best friend, cousin, college roomie, great friend, cousin, great friend's step-daughter, 3 children I babysat. (that includes jr. bridesmaids and flower girls) and then I had 6 honorary bridesmaids (cousins, co workers, and sorority sisters)

I didn't want to leave anyone out, I felt guilty. And at that, I think one of my honoraries backed out because she wasn't in the "REAL" wedding party... so I had a coworker fill in... big mistake as that coworker has basically written me off, and won't give me a reason... WOMEN! Gah!

LOL My cousin had 12 plus flower girls and a jr. bridesmaid. I think we just do them big in our family...

You know? I think that she needs to learn to OFFEND someone. Sometimes in life, you just have to say, "I'm sorry. I love you, but know...I could only choose four people to stand up with me. It was a hard decision, but that's life." CrAzInEsS!!!

Ok, the title of your post... I was thinking, "well, dang, that's kinda rude just because the poor girl's a little heavy." You can imagine me laughing when I discovered you were talking about the party being too big, not the bride herself.

I had 6 and thought that was a lot. Then I started photographing weddings. The most I've photographed was 9 attendants on each side. I told myself I would never do that again. Kudos to the photographers who don't let that bother them, but man, it's stressful! After doing a wedding with 9, I am sure I could pull off 10, Lili, but 15 . . . never. Wait, never say never. But probably not! :c)

oh my! Andy got on me for 7..... but 15, that is a bit excessive if you ask me!

Who will be left in the pews to witness the wedding? Idk, maybe she's got a not-so-great backside and wants to keep that at family only. I'm only throwing out thoughts here. ;)
