Maia and her first kitten

At the end of Noah's school year this year, all the pre-school classes and the kindergarten class visited one of the teacher's farms. What an amazing farm it was, too. I think I had just as much fun (but probably more fun, hehe) as the kids. I was in heaven :) We played with dogs, puppies, cows, horses, roosters (just watched those as they aren't nice animals!), and goats. We also played with a litter of kittens.

I grew up on a farm so we had litters upon litters of kittens every year. They were always a part of my "family" and I could probably name all 100 of them over my 16 years still today :c) Because of that, it was incredibly special for me to see Maia have her first experience seeing, and then holding, a kitten. Love is written all over her face while the kitten's face clearly reads panic :c)

Happy Love Thursday!

..a first..

What a cute picture. My grandparents had a farm and I spent a lot of time there growing up (my dad was a single parent and his parents took care of my a lot). Anyhow, there were lots and lots of cats there, too! I would go out to the barn and hunt down the new babies....I just couldn't help myself!

Candi, same here. :) On occasion we would have 2 or 3 litters at once. All mamma's had them in different locations. Some way up in a wire bail in the loft of a barn, some in hay in a barn, some in the bushes up by the house, some in the dog house . . . it was always so neat to find them and watch them grow up. Sometimes we'd have mammas who would either vanish or get killed and we'd have to hand raise them. For me the farm experience was one of the most profound learning times in my life. It taught me so much and I miss it so much. Sometimes I wish we still lived there. . .

Oh, that is so sweet. We always had kittens when I was growing up and now my mom and dad got 2 more so that the girls have some to play with when we go there (not to mention they are good for catching mice, too). I love them as much as my girls do. I think I spend more time playing with them, lol.

I love kitty cats. Now you'll just have to convince hubby that you need one at home, huh? Tee hee.

Cute. Cute. Cute. Both of them! :) Maia looks like such a big girl! I loved finding and playing with the baby kittens at Grandma & pa B's. I had names for all of them too--and they were some good, creative names, let me tell ya! Makes me laugh to think about some of them!

Glad you had a fun time!

awww, so cute! at least it was a tame kitten, I remember at my uncle's farm all the kittens were always wild and vicious. my cousin decided one would be her indoor cat, that was a scary little beast lol. the only time I was ever scared of a cat

When I was little we'd go to the "country" (SO ILL) every weekend and our cousins had a barn..Kitties every year! If they couldn't find me they knew I'd be in the barn, in the hay loft w/ the kitties...
Your pic is adorable!!
