Before the ice . . .

Before the ice arrived, we put up our Christmas tree. We decided this year to put up a fake. We don't usually do this because the tradition I have always grown up with is to go out and cut down your own tree, have it bundled up and bring it home. But this year we just don't have room for one. Our house is getting so small the bigger the kids get. The bigger they get, the bigger the toys seem to be and they take up a lot of space. (Our family room is basically the toy room now and no longer the nice organized place to relax and watch TV. That's ok, though, there's no way around it.) So we put up a fake one, but it is awfully cute, I must say. And for the first year ever, Noah has really caught on to it all. He has figured out that Santa brings him presents and that you have to tell him what you want, and that you put ornaments on the Christmas tree and that you sing "Jingle Bells" while doing it. So the night before the big ice storm, we put it up and Noah helped mommy put the ornaments on. It was the cutest thing watching him do it. He was very proud of himself, too. So here's a picture of him in action. Notice they all go on the very bottom and a big majority adorn the strand of lights themselves. Had to take pictures of this, of course!

Noah worked hard while, of course, Maia Lizzy sat back and munched on snacks

And Neil puts up lights outside. Notice any little eyes watching from inside? Meeeoooooww.

Adorable pics. Noah has grown soooo much. He's a little boy now. Love his haircut, too. The pic of Maia touching the ornament is priceless. Ryan said, "That's not Maia is it? SHe looks like a porcelain doll" :)
