How much longer?

It's 11:00 pm and still no power. I'm starting to wonder if we can ever go home? The power company today told me that they are working on the main lines first and personal lines last. So I have a feeling it might be a couple more days yet. A big majority of our neighborhood does have power. Everyone on the west side of our street does, except for us and the house next to us. We both had direct lines to our house broken. And then the people on the east side of the street, they don't have power. Crazy, eh?! Driving through town today, still there were handfuls of signal lights out. There's been accident after accident at these lights, too. You'd think at an major intersection they would get these fixed, but I'm sure it's way more complicated than that. If it were that easy, they'd be fixed. Anyway, a good thing about this is that I was able to finish cropping an album because I had nothing else to do! But the bummer thing is, we only got meat and milk out of our fridge, so we lost everything else. That's a lot of money to replace all those condiments and such. I guess it's our fault we didn't get them all out of there, but where were we suppose to put them? Another good thing, we got Frankie, our doggie, out and into a warm place. O'ma Pat took her in for us. What a blessing! Poor Frankster. I felt so bad for her but we didn't know what else to do. And then our neighbor behind us, seeing how much damage we have, voluteered to help us cut it all up and we've never had a conversation with these people. What a nice guy. So good things do come out of bad. I'm still feeling thankful we were all ok. The last few days we've heard fire sirens constantly. I'm hoping this is all over soon. Keep us in your prayers. I really want to go home and so do the kids.

Since you already will have an insurance claim, save your receipts and your homeowners insurance will cover the cost of the food.

((hugs))

Great idea! Mom suggested that, too. So far I think we actually have kept most of them.... is J still without?
