Migrane????

I have a really bad head ache. It's around my temples. Both temples. I began writing my post for today with lots and lots of hints for the Val Quiz, and these aches and pains hit me. I've actually been dealing with them off and on for a week now. It started one night in bed when I got shooting pains going through my temples. Ever since the areas have been sore to the touch. Right now I am experiencing shooting pains again and really sore tender temples. Pain is worse when I move my head. A little pain in the front of my head. Do you think this could be a migraine? It's a little scary. I feel it going down into my left cheekbone, too. Can anyone help me? I can't post my post right now. I'm going to lay down. Neil should be home soon. I thought I have had migraines before but if this is a migraine I can tell you that I have never had one before.

10:00 pm update -- I looked online some and in some books and I really do think it was/is either a migraine or sinus infection. Either way I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I am feeling almost 100% better now at the moment. Took about 4 hours for me to get over whatever it was and feel better. I can panic really easily, but also I really didn't know what was going on. Anything dealing with my head region freaks me out. Thank you everyone for your quick responses.

Poor Valley! I'm so sorry you're feeling all this. I haven't had migraines (so blessed!) so I can't tell you what it's like, but I will be thinking of and praying for you. Hope you feel better soon! Love!

Val, you may want to see a doctor. I havent had a migraine before but from the people I have know who have had them have pain going down from their temples to their cheekbones. Plus if it is migraines the doctor CAN prescribe you something to help when these come on so you arent immobile.

Thoughts are with you!

I've never experienced this when I've had migraines...but a trip to a doctor might be in order if the headache is really that bad. When I get migraines, I often fill somewhat nausiated and am extra sensitive to light and sound.

Truly hope you are feeling better very soon! Migraines are not fun!

I'm feeling a little better. It's not so intense. Pain was down into my left cheekbone and jaw. Really really strange. This is new for me. Hubby wonders if it may have something to do with my back pain that I've been dealing with. It's just all kinda odd for me. Thank you, everyone, for your help thus far. I really appreciate it.

The pain you are describing sounds like my one and thankfully, only sinus infection. Do your teeth hurt?
I hope you feel better real soon.

I used to have lots of migraines and they immobilize you. It is very painful. I had this checked out and lo and behold, I need braces because my jaws were not aligned. I just got my braces off on March 4 and I have only had 1 migraine (while my braces were still on). And I think it was a stress related issue because of my mom If you grind or clench your teeth, this could be the cause. I would definitely tell the dentist at your next visit and the doctor. Can't hurt. My orthodontist gave me valium. It worked but I could only take 1/4 of one because it made me so sleepy. I can sympathize and I'll keep you in my prayers. Hope things get better.
