Prelude to the final cut

At my mom and dad's new house . . . the kids pose.

We moved my mom and dad into their new house on Sunday. Neil and dad worked incredibly hard. What strong boys they are! :c) This adorable (I'm biased) picture is of my kiddies posing in the new kitchen. They love it at Grandma L and Grandpa B's new house. And Noah always reminds me that it's "right next to TARGET!". (And I say, "yes, I know, Noah...") I have a few other pictures, but I just had to share this one right now because it shows Maia with her cute ponies just 2 days ago. Say "bye, bye" to those ponies and her long pretty locks.

I got a call from my friend/hair stylist, Kim, this morning after my frantic email to her last night. She's going into her shop tomorrow for me. . .she is on maternity leave, however she feels my pain! She has a boy and a new baby girl. One day this might be Dawson and Ava! (I hope not for Kim's sake!)

Tomorrow Maia's beautiful hair will probably be all the way gone. I am not sure what Kim will do. My heart fills will tiny bits of pain when I think about it because there's one section that is way up about an inch from the scalp of her head. If Kim were to evenly cut it all the way around, she's have a boy hair cut. (wahhhh!!) I don't know what Kim will do to make this look okay. Think of us tomorrow around noon. We need some prayers that this mommy will make it through without crying and that Maia will sit still for the hair cut itself. It should be an interesting day. I'm already dreading it. Someone may have to drive me home.

Hair cut by her brother. :(
Here's just one section where he cut it. It's different lengths like this cut all the way around her head. I can't disguise it because it really does look like Edward Scissorhands began something and didn't finish. Maia wouldn't let me take anymore pictures than this one . . .

Well at least we know Noah does not have hairdresser in his future professions.

((hugs)) Poor mommy.

Oh my goodness.

My niece just cut her hair...her long curly hair...and now she's got a little bob. It's the cutest thing ever.

I'm sure Maia will be adorable. How could she not?!

I'm with Alexis on this... I don't think this is Noah's calling!

I can't wait to see the pretty little cut she will have when she comes out! She's such a beautiful girl that I know, whatever Kim does, Maia will be just gorgeous! (((hugs)))

I've got to get Wils hair cut and I'm dreading it... his curls are going bye bye!

Oh my goodness! Be sure to let us know how this turns out. Maia is gorgeous, so I'm sure she will look darling no matter what!

Maybe she'll be able to do a really cute cut with lots of layers so that it hides the short pieces. It will grow quickly. She's going to be darling no matter what her haircut.

It's a rite of passage, it had to be done. And now, I cannot wait to come back and find your hairdresser was able to do amazing things---with a beautiful little face like that, of course she'll be fine! So will you, mom! xoxo

Poor Val! That Noah really did do a job on Maia. I am sure that she will look beautiful though with her new do! Post a pic of it!

It doesn't help, but know that ALL kids so this and usually before a portrait sitting. At least that's the way my boys did it to one another.

I don't have girls, so I can only imagine your sadness. She will be beautiful no matter the cut.

Hugs.

Beautiful Maia, she'll look darling no matter what is on her head, I'm sure! (Rachel says if she had some snazzy pink polka-dotted capris, nobody would even look near her head, no matter how cute her hairdo!) I feel for you, Valley. But look at this--fewer tangles to comb! Beth had short hair always (last of four, Mom was tired of it) and always looked very cute. (She still does!)

Well, I don't have a girl, so I'm sure it is easier for me to say this...

She'll still look adorable!!
