Shameless plug . . vote for me.?!.

I was surfing through one of my favorite sites, Shutter Sisters, and in the "Daily Click" section, I was pleasantly surprised (or not) to see a picture of me on there. (gasp.) Thankfully I'm not all that in focus and what's really funny is that I took this one morning when I hadn't showered and didn't have an ounce of makeup on (you can't see my face so that doesn't really matter, I guess) and I was just sitting on my back patio as the kids played on the swings. I tend to find myself doing this quite often -- just sitting, looking, trying to find something to shoot a picture of. And this time, I looked into the sliding glass door and saw myself in it, so I shot what I was looking at. (It's fun shooting reflections, whatever it may be.) It was as simple as that, really. I posted it to my flickr, and low and behold, it made it onto a website unknowningly. (If you were sitting here, you'd hear a teeny squeal of delight coming from me..)

Anyway, it's not usually that big of a deal except this time, the photo with the most comments from the Daily Click get put into a book. Yes, a book! Not that I want a picture of me in the book, but to have a picture that I took in a book is pretty snazzy. So go comment away. Please! And if you do comment (there and here - so I know you did, please), and I recognize you, I think I might put your name in a hat and draw one. (Yes! Great idea, Val!) If you get chosen, you get a free Shutter Sisters Photography book! :) Maybe the contest part will get you to comment. That's all it takes. A comment, both here and there. (like all my linkage?) But please, please be nice :)

I've entered a couple photos from this year to JPG magazine. If you like 'em, please take the time to vote! It's not a big prize or anything ($100) but it still gets my work published, which would be the best reward! So, if you have time, head on over if you would :c)

When considering your vote . . .

Why do I have to make this so complicated? Well, because I have to live with this for a long time! And what we choose has to go well with who I am, with what my pictures portray, and with my new website. Which brings me to this. What the new site looks like. There a few taglines that I think would fit great with the actual design style of my site.

The site's type is kind of a scripty-scribbly type. That's not a good explanation. A hand-written font is a better way of putting it.

And then the site has a few different backgrounds, depending on what page you are on.

One is a vintage-y wallpaper look. It's really hard to describe. The other background looks like spiral lined notebook paper. It looks like I just tore a piece of paper out of my notebook and stuck it on the site. So, with that thought in mind, I really like some of the taglines that say "documenting" or ones that just have some sort of connotation with writing/documenting/etc.

So with those thoughts in mind --- have fun voting!

Tagline continued

I am kinda thinking that I will post *my* favorite taglines and then have a vote? Does that work? I just cannot decide! It's hard! And I came up with a few on my own, too. I really really hope no one would be offended if I used something not ideated by YOU, GREAT PEOPLE. All YOUR ideas have really helped ME in brainstorming myself. That's what I needed . . . insight into my own Mind's Eye. I always need a kick start to get my creative juices flowin'. That's just how I work. So you in for a vote?
